Mt. Kenya National Park rises above central Kenya with cold peaks, thick forest, bamboo, moorland, tarns, and open alpine ground. The park protects Africa’s second highest mountain, a World Heritage landscape known for climbing, birdlife, waterfalls, and clear highland views. Travellers come here for Mount Kenya trekking, quiet nature walks, photography, and a cooler break from lowland safari routes. Its position near Nanyuki and Nyeri also makes it easy to combine with Samburu, Ol Pejeta, or other Kenya safari destinations for a balanced mountain and wildlife holiday in Kenya comfortably.
For travellers planning Mt. Kenya National Park tours, the area gives a slower, greener side of Kenya. Expect misty forests, high altitude trails, rare plants, and steady adventure without the heavy vehicle traffic often found along busier safari routes nearby.
Mt. Kenya National Park
The Dry & Cool Season
July to October stays mostly dry, with crisp mornings and cold nights. Trails are firmer, views improve, and Mt. Kenya National Park feels active for trekkers.
The Dry & Peak Season
January and February bring clearer skies, warmer days, and better trail conditions. This is a strong time for Mount Kenya climbing, photography, and wildlife viewing trips.
The Rainy Seasons
March to June and late October to December bring rain, mist, and slippery paths. Forests look fresh, but Mount Kenya trekking needs planning and flexible timing.
Plan your Mt. Kenya National Park safari around forest wildlife, highland birds, and mountain scenery. Elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, monkeys, antelopes, and rich birdlife may appear along lower slopes. Add guided walks or nearby conservancy visits for a fuller Kenya wildlife experience with expert local guidance.
Exciting activities at Mt. Kenya National Park are mostly built around the mountain itself. Visitors can trek to Point Lenana, walk through forest and bamboo zones, camp near alpine lakes, watch birds, or photograph glaciers and rugged peaks. The routes vary in difficulty, so travellers can choose short nature visits or longer guided climbs with acclimatization support, good gear, and steady altitude care on site.
Beyond trekking, Mt. Kenya National Park activities suit travellers who like quiet scenery more than rushed sightseeing. The lower slopes are good for guided forest walks, wildlife spotting, and birding, while nearby lodges make soft adventure easier for families and couples visiting central Kenya today.

Enailepu Tours was exceptional, it made our safari in Maasai Mara incredible with lots of unforgettable experiences. Evans picked us in Nairobi, the Land cruise was nice. The experience of the tour guide made our safari memorable, we managed to see all the big five. The most exciting was the lions and the cheetah hunting, this is what I longed to see in my life. Evans made this come true. The Maasai Culture was also memorable. I recommend Enailepu for your Safaris.

I had the most unforgettable safari experience with Enailepu Tours! We explored the stunning Mara North and Lemek Conservancies, and I was absolutely amazed. The landscapes were breathtaking, and the wildlife sightings were beyond anything I imagined. From lions to elephants, every moment felt magical. Our guide Evans, was not only knowledgeable but also super friendly and passionate, which made the whole journey even more special. Highly recommend!

My family and I went on a game drive at Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya with Evans as our tour guide, and the experience was excellent. He offered very reasonable rates and delivered a truly authentic wildlife experience. He also organizes tours to many other destinations across Kenya, not just the Maasai Mara. Evans knows the wilderness extremely well. He understands the best routes, common animal locations, and the ideal times for sightings.

Two excellent guides . I have veen coming to Africa various places such as Botswana,Zambia,Zimbabwe,S.Africa, Tanzania each year for the past 35 years but never experienced such a wonderful safari like this. They just could smell the animals and spent all their time spotting . We had some anazing experiences with lions,Cheetahs Leopords,Buffalos,Hyenas etc just in two days . Even saw a buffalo kill . Recommend them at any time. Coming back again and using them
